ABOUT US

Formerly known as "Small Business Strong," Conaxion was the winner of the 2016 Mayor’s Cup, a social impact initiative introduced by Mayor Eric Garcetti. With over 100 teams competing, graduate students from UCLA, USC and LMU—the team comprised of undergraduate students from Cal State Los Angeles.

President

As one of the Cofounders of Conaxion, he has a genuine desire for innovative entrepreneurship and helping local small business owners reach their potential. Specializes in analyzing and continuous improvement of organizations and design thinking lean methodologies

As one of the Cofounders of Conaxion, he received a B.A. in Business Administration with an option in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Economics from CSULA. He is a business counselor who is passionate about providing innovative solutions for local small business owners and startup companies

Vice President

As one of the Cofounders of Conaxion, he received a B.S. in Business Administration with an option in Management from Cal State LA. He is a business counselor who enjoys learning from the people he serves. He specializes in process improvement and business development

Jorge Nuño

Vice Chair

A South Central Los Angeles “social entrepreneur” who has spent the last 15 years as a local job creator and neighborhood mentor. CEO of NTS Communications, a graphics design firm that contracts with LAUSD, RedBox, Vivendi Entertainment and Walmart

Joe Garcia

Board Member

Joe Garcia III is a third generation entrepreneur. He worked in the family business most of his life, growing and learning the food industry. He received his master degree from USC Annenberg School of Communication. He is currently working on his second master degree from USC Marshall School of business, MBA program
